By

Lenovo also announced three new tablets in the Mobile World Congress (MWC 2016) last February aside from their latest smartphones. The latest Lenovo tablets are the Tab3 10, Tab3 8, and Tab3 7.

These tablets are expected to be released in June 2016. Lenovo is a brand you can trust when it comes to product durability and longer battery life.

With these new tablets announced, what new features do they offer and how are they compared to the previous similar Lenovo tablets? Let’s take a look.

Lenovo Tab3 10

Lenovo Tab3 10

Display: 10.1 inches (1920 x 1200 pixels)
Camera: 8MP
Hardware: Mediatek, Quad-core 1.3 GHz, 3GB RAM
Battery: 7000 mAh
Expected Price: Rs. 13,499 (US$ 203.3)

New Features

If you like a tablet with a huge display, the Lenovo Tab3 10 may fit your taste. This is not the first time Lenovo made a tablet with a 10.1-inch display. Last April 2015, it also released the Lenovo Tab 2 A10-70. Like the Tab 2 A10-70, the Tab3 10 uses the same IPS LCD display technology for a more vivid and colorful display with less power consumption.

Like the Tab 2 A10-70, the resolution is the same but with a slightly higher pixel density of 224 ppi. This level of sharpness is enough to enjoy a good viewing experience considering the large display size.

It will run on the latest Android OS 6.0.1 (Marshmallow) combined with a decent processing speed and huge RAM. With these specs, we could expect that the tablet can multitask two or more applications smoothly.

Compared to the Tab 2 A10-70 which is only available in 16 GB internal storage and expandable up to 64 GB, the Tab3 10 will be available in 32 GB and 64 GB variants that can be expanded up to 32GB with the use of microSD card.

Similar features with the previous model

Like the Tab 2 A10-70, the battery is non-removable. The battery capacity is still the same, so we can also expect it to also last up to 15.5 hours for multimedia use.  It is also LTE-capable, uses a micro-SIM, has an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera.

It also has the Dolby Atmos® technology of the Tab 2 A10-70. Most big tablets of other brands lack good audio quality and many people complain about it because they still have to use their headset if they want to watch a movie in the tablet.

So with a great sound quality and huge display, this tablet will certainly give you a better watching experience.

Conclusion

The Tab3 10 have slight improvements compared to the Tab 2 A10-70. The Tab 2 A10-70 is priced to be as low as US$220 in Amazon, and if the US$ price of Tab3 10 is close to this, it is certainly worth its value.

Lenovo Tab3 8

Lenovo Tab3 8

Display: 8.0 inches (1280 x 800 pixels)
Camera: 5MP
Hardware: Mediatek, Quad-core 1.0 GHz, 2GB RAM
Battery: 4290 mAh
Price: US$ 109.99

The Lenovo Tab3 8 is another 8-inch tablet to be released by Lenovo. The other 8-inch tablets that were previously released are the Yoga Tab 3 8.0 last October 2015 and Lenovo Tab 2 A8-50 last June 2015. The Yoga Tab 3 8.0 has a totally different form and use, so the closest tablet which we can compare with the Tab3 8 is the Tab 2 A8-50.

The Tab3 8 runs on the latest Android 6.0.1 (Marshmallow), but with a slightly lower CPU speed from the Quad-core 1.3 GHz of the Tab 2 A8-50. It is also lighter at only 329 g compared to the 360 g Tab 2 A8-50. The Tab3 8 has a 16GB internal storage while the Tab 2 A8-50 has an 8GB and 16GB variant.

Aside from the software and the weight, the rest of the specs are much the same with the Tab 2 A8-50.

The resolution is the same and the display also uses IPS LCD technology.  The 189 ppi pixel density of the Tab3 8 and 184 ppi pixel density of the Tab 2 A8-50 will have no noticeable difference in the sharpness of graphics.

Like the Tab 2 A8-50, the Tab3 8 can use a microSD up to 32 GB, has a 5MP rear camera, 2MP front camera, Dolby Atmos® technology for quality audio, LTE capability, Wi-Fi connectivity, and a non-removable 4290 mAh battery that can last up to 8 hours of multimedia use.

The Tab 2 A8-50 can be purchased for as low as US$109 in Amazon, so we expect the US$ price to be very close to this to be worth its value.

Lenovo Tab3 7

Lenovo Tab3 7

Display: 7.0 inches (1024 x 600 pixels)
Camera: 5MP
Hardware: Mediatek, Quad-core 1.0 GHz, 1GB RAM
Battery: 3450 mAh
Price: US$ 99.99

Like the previous tablets, the Tab 3 7 also has its predecessors. The Tab 2 A7-30 was released last April 2015 while the Tab 2 A7-10 was released last January 2015. Compared to its 7.0-inch predecessors, the Tab3 7 has more to offer.

New Features

The Tab3 7 is splash-resistant (IP 52 rating) so it is perfect during rainy days or when you are using it near the pool or the beach. It is also safe from accidental water spills.

It is LTE-capable, unlike the Tab 2 A7-30 which can only connect to 3G network. This will allow the user to experience a huge increase in internet download and browsing speed.

The rear camera resolution also increased to 5MP from 2MP.

Like the new tablets, it now runs on the latest Android 6.0.1 (Marshmallow), but with a slight decrease in CPU speed from Quad-core 1.3 GHz. Also, Lenovo did not disclose if the tablet has Dolby audio like the previous model. Other subtle changes include the use of micro-SIM from the previous mini-SIM.

Similar Features with the previous model

Like the Tab 2 A7-30, the Tab3 7 uses the same IPS LCD display technology, same display resolution, and pixel density. So the display quality is the same. The weight is almost similar at only 260 g from 269 g, which makes the tablet still lightweight and comfortable to carry around.

It also has the same 1GB RAM, 2MP front camera, 16 GB internal storage, microSD card slot up to 32 GB, Wi-Fi connectivity, and non-removable 3450 mAh battery that can last up to 8 hours of multimedia use.
