New ASUS Mobile Phone | ASUS Zenfone 3 Deluxe (ZS570KL) – The Most Awesome Smartphone So Far!
The ASUS Zenfone 3 Deluxe (ZS570KL) is the new flagship mobile phone from ASUS. I was blown away by its amazing features.
It was almost like all the flagship smartphones from other brands merged together into one brilliant and amazing device. Not only that it has most of the best specs from other flagships, it also has its own unique highlights that will also impress you.
So, with that said, let’s take a look at the details.
Device Type: Smartphone
Display: 5.7 inches (1080 x 1920 pixels)
Camera: 23MP
Hardware: Snapdragon 820, Dual-core 2.15 GHz + Dual-core 1.6 GHz, 6 GB RAM
Battery: 3000 mAh
Expected Price: US$ 599
Design – Seamless Metallic Build
The Zenfone 3 Deluxe has a metal unibody like the flagship smartphones of other brands today such as iPhone 6s/6s Plus, Samsung Galaxy S7/S7 Edge, LG G5, HTC 10, Huawei P9, and Lenovo Zuk Z2 Pro.
But what puts it above the rest in terms of sturdiness along with Huawei P9 is that their body are both made of aerospace-grade aluminum alloy.
How tough is an aerospace-grade aluminum alloy?
Aluminum alloys that are being used for aerospace manufacturing have a high strength-to-density ratio and with a strength comparable to many steels.
Now that’s very tough!
For a 5.7-inch smartphone, the 170 g weight is just right enough considering the metal build. Even with a slightly larger display size, it is still 13% lighter compared to the 5.5-inch iPhone 6s Plus.
The front glass is made of Corning Gorilla Glass 4, which is currently the latest version of the Gorilla Glass and is twice more durable compared to other glass designs. Corning Gorilla Glass is also the glass design in almost all latest flagship smartphones.
Another unique design aspect that you will like is the invisible antenna which enables a seamless metal finish. If you are familiar with the design of the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus, you will notice the white or gray lines running across the width of the top and bottom rear of the case.
These lines are made of plastic which allows the mobile signals to reach the antenna of the phone. Apple integrated these in the metal design, but for some, it is a design flaw which makes it less attractive.
Now going back to Zenfone 3 Deluxe, the seamless metal finish with no visible gaps even near the sides is so cool and amazing to look at. I can’t stop looking at this beauty.
When it comes to thickness, it is only 7.5 mm thin which is almost as thin as the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus. It is even thinner compared to Samsung Galaxy S7/S7 Edge, HTC 10, and LG G5.
It comes in Glacier Silver, Titanium Gray, Shimmer Gold. I find all these colors very beautiful, but I really like the Titanium Gray most.
Display – Realistic and Vivid, You Will Never Go Back…
Another aspect that astonishes me is the Super AMOLED Display technology. This display technology can also be found in Samsung Galaxy S7/S7 Edge and Lenovo Zuk Z2 Pro. Other flagship smartphones usually use IPS LCD technology.
What are the advantages of a Super AMOLED display technology?
When it comes to brightness, color saturation, and vividness, the Super AMOLED display technology takes the display quality to another level.
If you try to view the same photo or play the same video with this technology side by side with the other display technologies, you will find that the Super AMOLED display technology will show more realistic colors.
Personally, after seeing this difference myself, I know I am never going back to the other display technologies.
When it comes to sharpness, the Zenfone 3 Deluxe has a 5.7-inch Full HD display with 386 pixels per inch. Now you may think that a Full HD display is not the sharpest out there.
We now have Quad-HD and Samsung Galaxy S7/S7 Edge, HTC 10, and LG G5 even have 500+ pixels per inch. These smartphones are definitely sharper than Zenfone 3 Deluxe.
But according to Apple, even at 326 pixels per inch which is the pixel density of a Retina Display, individual pixels are already invisible to the human eye at a normal viewing distance. Moreover, very high resolutions consume more battery life. So the 386 pixels per inch of the Zenfone 3 Deluxe is actually more than enough in terms of sharpness.
Performance – Now that’s Ground-Breaking!
The Zenfone 3 Deluxe comes with the Snapdragon 820 chipset which is the fastest and most powerful Android chipset in the market right now.
This is the same chipset in Samsung Galaxy S7/S7 Edge, LG G5, Lenovo Zuk Z2 Pro, and HTC 10.The graphics processor of this chipset is Andreno 530 which is the best graphics processor even for heavy 3D games.
Now, what’s the advantage of this smartphone along with Lenovo Zuk Z2 Pro over other flagship smartphones?
It has a 6 GB RAM!
That’s currently a very huge RAM for a smartphone. The flagship smartphones of other brands only have up to 4 GB. With a huge RAM size, running many apps at the same time or switching between them will not slow down the phone’s performance.
It also comes with the latest Android OS 6.0.1 (Marshmallow) like the other flagships. This means you can use the latest available Android functionalities such as Doze for better power saving and Android Pay, the Android version of Apple Pay.
Another super cool feature of this smartphone is that it is available in 256 GB internal storage variant aside from 128 GB and 64 GB, just like the Zenfone 2 Deluxe. None of the other flagship smartphones described above has a 256 GB internal storage.
Earlier this February 2016, Samsung revealed that they are already manufacturing 256 GB memory chips, but we expect it to be in their flagships by next year or so. So for now, Zenfone 3 Deluxe is still on top of these flagships when it comes to available storage.
Although it comes in various internal storage options, you can still further expand your storage capacity using a microSD card up to 128 GB. And if combined with the 256 GB variant, that’s a super awesome 384 GB!
Camera – Sharpness You Have Never Seen Before
Even in the camera specs, the Zenfone 3 Deluxe is above all flagship smartphones in terms of camera resolution. The 23 MP rear camera will let you capture razor sharp photos of your precious moments. The resolution is almost twice the sharpness compared to other flagships that currently pack 12 MP rear cameras.
Aside from the resolution, let’s take a look at the other camera features that significantly affects image quality.
The Zenfone 3 Deluxe has OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) and EIS (Electronic Image Stabilization) features that reduce or even prevent blurs if your hands are shaking while capturing images. This is also useful if the subject of the image is in motion.
It has 1 µm pixel size which is lower compared to other flagship smartphones. The pixel size determines the capability of the camera to capture more light to provide better images in a low-light condition. The larger the value of the pixel size, the better.
However, it compensates this with its Low Light Mode (with ASUS Pixel Master Technology) which enables up to 400% brighter photos and videos.
If you like the dimensional effect on photos where the subject is the focus and the background is blurred, Zenfone 3 Deluxe can also provide this with its large f/2.0 aperture. It is not the largest around, but it is large enough if you opt for a good dimensional effect.
The camera lens is also protected by Sapphire to prevent any scratches.
The autofocus technology is similar to the Zenfone 3 which allows autofocus in just 0.03 seconds. That is a cool feature that I really like to have because some of the other flagship smartphones take a longer time to autofocus which is inconvenient sometimes.
It also has other features such as color correction and Real-time HDR for better image quality. The rear camera can also record 4K videos at 30 frames per second which is amazing and what most flagship smartphones are also capable of doing.
The front camera has 8 MP resolution for your best selfies. It has the same aperture size and can record Full HD videos.
Battery Life, High-Res Audio and Other Cool Features
The battery capacity is 3000 mAh which reminds of the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+. Aside from battery capacity, they both have the same display size and display technology, so we can safely expect the battery life to be close to 20 hours of talk time in 3G.
Another feature that you will like is the 24-bit/192kHz High-Resolution Audio which is four times better than the 16-bit CD quality in iPhone 6s/6s Plus. Other flagships also do not have this feature and if you love your music, this kind of audio quality is a must-have.
The loudspeaker also has an advanced five-magnet speaker construction, metal voice coil, and expansive sound chamber for better sound quality.
Located at the back is the fingerprint sensor which unlocks the phone in a fraction of a second. It can also integrate with the OS and other apps for a more secure online transactions. It is capable of 360 degrees recognition so you don’t have to worry how you are holding the phone while using the fingerprint sensor.
It also has NFC support and basic features such as LTE capability, Wi-Fi connectivity, GPS, and sensors such as Acceleration, Gyroscope, Proximity, Hall, Ambient light, RGB, and IR sensor.
Zenfone 3 Deluxe is the Bomb!
The Zenfone 3 Deluxe is a superb smartphone in almost all aspects. It has a very exquisite design in its metal unibody which is protected by a very durable glass. The seamless beauty and the sleek profile is amazing.
You will certainly like the realistic colors of the display and the very sharp resolution. It packs the most powerful chipset in the market today for the fastest and smoothest experience both in your apps and games.
The camera also has a super high resolution with various outstanding features. If you love to listen to music, the High-Res audio is also a treat. This is the smartphone that the other smartphones will envy.
