New Lenovo Mobile Phone – Lenovo ZUK Z2 – Another Excellent Masterpiece!
The Lenovo Zuk Z2 is the new Lenovo mobile phone that is going to be another favorite by most people.
We made a post about the Pro version of this mobile phone last April 2016. And it’s one of the most excellent mobile phones around, even better than most flagships.
How is Lenovo Zuk Z2 compared to the Pro version and other excellent smartphones? Let’s find out.

Design and Display – Looks Good!
The Lenovo Zuk Z2’s design reminds me of the iPhone SE because of the similarities in the frame design, the 2.5D glass with the slight curve, and the camera position at the upper left rear.
It looks very different compared to the Zuk 2 Pro which looks similar to the iPhone 6s Plus.
It is only 8.5 mm thin which is not too thin but not too thick. It is slightly thicker compared to Zuk 2 Pro but its slightly thinner compared to Zuk Z1.
The weight is 149 g which is pretty light for a 5-inch smartphone.
It uses IPS LCD technology which is a good display technology that is also used by other flagship smartphones such as LG G5 and the latest iPhone.
It has better viewing angles compared to TFT display technology.
IPS LCD is not as vivid compared to a Super AMOLED display, but it’s still beautiful and it’s a good technology if you don’t want to spend for a very expensive smartphone.
Zuk 2 Pro has Super AMOLED display by the way and most expensive Samsung smartphones.
The display has a Full HD resolution with 441 pixels per inch. It is slightly sharper than the Zuk Z1 and Zuk 2 Pro. When it comes to display sharpness, anything above 400 pixels per inch is already super sharp for me.
There are only two colors to choose from just like in Zuk 2 Pro: Titanium Black, Ceramic White.
Processing Power – Most Powerful Processing Power Today!
What’s so amazing about this smartphone is that it contains the most powerful chipset in the market today – the Snapdragon 820! That’s a CPU with Dual-core 2.15 GHz plus Dual-core 1.6 GHz.
This is the same chipset that can be found in the best and latest Android smartphones around such as LG G5, Zuk 2 Pro, Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, HTC 10, and ASUS Zenfone 3 Deluxe.
And the graphics… it’s Adreno 530 – which is also the best Android graphics processor right now! You will certainly appreciate it if you like to play 3D games that are heavy on the graphics.
It has a 4 GB RAM which is pretty high. It’s the same RAM size of most flagship smartphones. Currently, there are only few smartphones with a RAM larger than that. Those include the Zuk 2 Pro and some variants of the ASUS Zenfone 3 Deluxe and they have a 6 GB RAM.
A larger RAM size is important for smoother multitasking and running of heavy apps and games.
It has a 64 GB internal storage, and sadly, there is no microSD card slot. But anyway, the price is a lot cheaper compared to other smartphones with the same processing power, so I don’t mind. If you are used to using iPhones, you wouldn’t mind as well.
It also comes with the latest Android 6.0.1 OS, the Marshmallow. I like this OS version a lot because it has Doze which saves a lot of battery life. If you like to make payments just like with Apple Pay, this Android OS version has Android Pay and it works the same way!
Camera – High-Resolution, Better Image Quality
The camera features are almost the same with the Zuk 2 Pro with some slight differences.
The rear camera resolution is 13 MP, the same with Zuk 2 Pro, and the average camera resolution of other flagship smartphones.
It has a 1/2.6″ sensor size which is the same with the ASUS Zenfone 3 Deluxe. The pixel size is 1.34 µm which is kind of amazing. These features determine how much light comes in. The larger the value, the more light, the better the image quality.
The aperture size if f/2.2 which is not too large but not too small. This feature gives a dimensional effect when capturing an image. The dimensional effect is achieved by focusing on the subject and blurring the background. This is one of the effects most professional photographers include in their photos.
They did not mention an OIS (optical image stabilization) feature which helps reduce blurs when your hands are shaking.
Another amazing feature of the camera is that it can record 4K videos! If you like taking videos, this is an excellent feature that you will surely love.
The front camera has an 8 MP front camera. It has a 1.4 µm pixel size which is cool for more light and better quality of selfies .
The values of the pixel size normally range between 1.0 to 2.0 µm. Again, the larger the better. It can also record Full HD videos! I am really loving this camera.
Battery Life, High-Res Audio, and Cool Other Features
The battery capacity is 3500 mAh. For a 5-inch smartphone, that is a very big battery capacity!
The Samsung Galaxy S7 which has almost the same display size can last up to 22 hours of talk time in 3G and that’s with a 3000 mAh battery capacity only.
Moreover, Samsung uses Super AMOLED which drains more battery, so expect more juice from the Zuk 2! You can also charge 83% of the battery in just 30 minutes! That’s awesome!
I also like the High-Resolution audio of this smartphone. It has 24-bit/192kHz audio which is four times better than a normal smartphone with a 16-bit audio. Music lovers, you will love this one.
Security is enhanced by the fingerprint sensor. It is also LTE-capable with LTE band 1(2100), 2(1900), 3(1800), 4(1700/2100), 5(850), 7(2600), 8(900), 38(2600), 39(1900), 40(2300), 41(2500). Make sure any of the LTE bands matches the LTE band in your network and location.
The LTE speed is LTE Cat6 300/50 which is faster than other LTE smartphones with LTE Cat4 only.
It also has the basic features such as Wi-Fi connectivity, GPS (but with GLONASS and BDS), Acceleration sensor, Gyroscope, Proximity sensor, Compass, and Bluetooth for your wireless headsets and speakers.
Lenovo Zuk Z2, An Excellent Smartphone for a Good Price!
The Lenovo Zuk Z2 has a good design that you will like. The display is very sharp and the overall quality can closely compete with the latest iPhones.
It has the most powerful CPU and graphics processor in the market today and you will really like its speed and smooth performance.
I also like the camera with a really sharp resolution. The selfie camera is also excellent. The battery life is one of the most impressive aspect as well as the high-resolution audio quality.
