The Samsung Z3 Corporate Edition is a new variant of the Z3 smartphone released last October 2015. It has better specs and is currently available for purchase in Russia, and soon in other online stores.

What are the differences of the Samsung Z3 Corporate Edition with the Samsung Z3? And is the initial price of Samsung Z3 Corporate Edition worth it? Let’s find out.

Differences with the Samsung Z3

The Samsung Z3 Corporate Edition is LTE-capable, unlike Samsung Z3 which can only connect to GSM and 3G. The LTE bands are LTE 800, 850, 900, 1800, 2100, 2600.

In terms of processing power, the Z3 Corporate Edition has a Snapdragon 410 chipset which is normally used in entry-level smartphones. But compared to the Z3 with Spreadtrum chipset, it can provide a better performance.

The 8 MP camera of the Z3 Corporate Edition can record Full HD videos while the 8 MP camera of the Z3 can only record HD videos.

The Z3 Corporate Edition has a price equivalent to US$ 260 while the Z3 will only cost US$ 125 or even cheaper.

Similarities with the Samsung Z3

The design of the Z3 Corporate Edition is the same with the Z3. They both have the same dimensions with a thickness of 7.9 mm. They are also thinner compared to most smartphones today.

Both smartphones are Dual SIM with a Micro-SIM size.

When it comes to display quality, both are using Super AMOLED technology which is the best smartphone display technology in terms of vividness and color saturation. The same technology is used in Samsung S7 and S7 Edge.

Both have a 5-inch display with HD resolution and 294 pixels per inch. This level of pixel density or sharpness is acceptable and good enough for your modest needs because it’s already close to the 326 pixels per inch of the iPhone 6s.

The OS is Tizen 2.4 for the Z3 Corporate Edition while the Z3 is version 2.3 but also upgradeable to 2.4

Like the Android OS, Tizen OS is an open-source system and the user interface doesn’t look entirely different from Android, so you won’t get lost in this OS.

The internal storage is 8 GB and can be expanded up to 128 GB using a microSD card (SIM 2 slot). The rear camera is still at 8 MP with f/2.2 aperture size while the front camera is at 5 MP with the same aperture size.

Other cool features of these smartphones are USB On-The-Go, FM radio, Wi-Fi connectivity, GPS with A-GPS and GLONASS for finding locations, Bluetooth 4.1, and removable 2600 mAh battery.

Compared to Other Smartphones Within the Same Price Range

When it comes to display quality, the top smartphones under US$250 usually have a Full HD display with at least 400 pixels per inch. That’s a lot sharper compared to the display of the Z3 Corporate Edition.

But those smartphones only use IPS LCD technology. IPS LCD is also used in the latest iPhones but is less vivid and colorful compared to the Super AMOLED display of the Z3 Corporate Edition.

So it’s really just a matter of preference. Do you want a sharper smartphone display or a more vivid and colorful display?

Now, in terms of processing power, a Snapdragon 410 in Samsung Z3 Corporate Edition is an entry-level chipset which is normally found in the top smartphones under US$150.

With a US$250 budget, you can already get a smartphone with Snapdragon 600 series or 800 series. These chipset series are faster and more powerful and are usually found in the best mid-range to upper-midrange smartphones.

When it comes to the operating system, Tizen OS still have fewer app choices compared to Android. But of course, even the Android OS also started with fewer apps. This does not also mean that there are no quality apps and games in Tizen, there are many you can choose from.

Let’s assess the camera. The 8 MP camera of the Samsung Z3 Corporate Edition can also be found in the top smartphones under US$150. With a US$250 budget, you can even get a 13 MP smartphone camera with a larger aperture size. The front camera resolution, on the other hand, is fine for its price.

The Full HD video recording is also not the best you can get within the same price range, there are smartphones below US$250 that can already record 4K videos.

The battery capacity is just right for the size of this smartphone, but most smartphones have non-removable batteries. The removable battery feature of the Z3 Corporate Edition is actually good because you can just replace it anytime.

Samsung Z3 Corporate Edition, Will You Buy It?

The Samsung Z3 Corporate Edition has some features that are better than the Samsung Z3. These include a faster chipset, LTE capability, and Full HD video recording. For these improvements, the Samsung Z3 Corporate Edition is almost twice the price of Samsung Z3.

Most of the features are the same, including the dimensions, display quality, camera resolution, and battery capacity.

The Samsung Z3 Corporate Edition is also a little pricey if you compare the specs with the top smartphones within the same price range. Most of its main features can only match the best smartphones under US$150.

So when it becomes available online, let’s just hope it’s offered much lower than its initial price in Russia.
