Cheapest Phones for PUBG Mobile – Top 5 Cheapest Phones

September 29, 20208:14 pm By

Today, I made a list of the Top 5 Cheapest Phones for PUBG (PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds) Mobile. These smartphones will let you play flawlessly with PUBG Mobile and will also SAVE you a lot of bucks.

I’ve been playing PUBG since its release in 2018 for Android and iOS platforms. I like the game so much that sometimes I can’t help myself from playing late at night. I’m undeniably addicted to it.

If you look at the requirements to play this game, it’s pretty simple. You will need a stable internet connection, at least 2GB of RAM, Android 5.1.1 or above (Android phones), and iOS 9.0 or above (iPhones).

However, if you want to play smoothly with the cheapest smartphone, you will need at least 4GB of RAM and a mid-range processor like Snapdragon 6XX and above for an Android Phone. For iPhones, you’ll need 3GB RAM and Apple 11 Bionic processor or higher. You can play even up to Extreme frame rate settings (sometimes with the help of GFX tool) for some of these phones with no lag and overheating.

Top 5 Cheapest Phones for PUBG Mobile

Below is the list of the Cheapest phones for PUBG Mobile that you can choose from and still be able to win a lot in the game. These smartphones are perfect if you are on a tight budget.

#1 – Xiaomi Redmi Note 10S

Display: 6.43 inches 1080 x 2400 pixels, 20:9 ratio (409 ppi density)
OS: Android 11, MIUI 12.5
Hardware:  Mediatek Helio G95 (12 nm), Octa-core (2×2.05 GHz Cortex-A76 & 6×2.0 GHz Cortex-A55)
Battery: 5,000 mAh
Network: GSM/HSPA/LTE

Price: USD 210.00 (6GB RAM/128 GB)

You can play Smooth and Balanced Graphics up to Ultra frame rate (40 fps) settings. But you can use GFX Tool app to enable Extreme frame rate (60 fps) settings. HD Graphics is available up to High frame rate settings, Extreme frame rate setting is not available by default.

At Ultra frame rate settings, there are no overheating issues for the battery and CPU even after a few hours of playing.

I recommend using Smooth Graphics with Extreme frame rate settings with the help of GFX tool. It is a good combination to have smooth gameplay and stable temperature (40 °C).

HDR and Ultra HD graphics settings are not available. I don’t think these higher graphic settings will give you a competitive edge in the game anyway. The object render distance does not change even if you have HDR over Smooth settings which means you can still spot other players the same way. The object render distance difference by changing the graphics setting was an old design flaw and is now removed.

#2 – iPhone 8 Plus (Renewed)

Price: USD 205.00 (64 GB)

The iPhone 8 Plus is an excellent device for PUBG Mobile gaming. You can play Smooth Graphics up to Extreme frame rate settings. I think this is a better choice than the iPhone SE 2020 because it has a bigger screen and the gameplay is very smooth.

I recommend Smooth Graphics with Extreme frame rate in the settings.

Balance, HD, HDR, and Ultra HD Graphics settings are also available in combination with Ultra frame rate settings. There is no Extreme frame rate setting for these four Graphics settings.

You can check the Renewed version on Amazon so you can get a lower price for this phone. For the warranty, the renewed versions are backed by the 90-day Amazon Renewed guarantee.

#3 – Samsung Galaxy S10+ (Renewed)

Price: USD 250.00 (8GB RAM/128 GB)

The Samsung Galaxy S10+ is a beast in PUBG Mobile and the screen is also big which is great for your gameplay. If you are worried about the price, you can purchase a renewed version on Amazon because it’s cheaper.

It’s better than the Galaxy Note 9. The Galaxy Note 9 runs PUBG Mobile smoothly but lags when the temperature heats up if you use the Extreme frame rate setting.

I recommend Smooth Graphics with Extreme frame rate settings when playing on your Galaxy S10+. Always make sure to get the Snapdragon version which is the version for units sold in U.S. and China. The Exynos version will provide an inferior performance.

#4 – Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro

Display: 6.53 inches 1080 x 2340 pixels, 19.5:9 ratio (~395 ppi density)
OS: Android 9.0 (Pie), upgradable to Android 10, MIUI 11
Hardware:  Mediatek Helio G90T (12nm)Octa-core (2×2.05 GHz Cortex-A76 & 6×2.0 GHz Cortex-A55); GPU: Mali-G76 MC4; 6GB RAM

Price: USD 219 (6GB RAM/64 GB); USD 249 (6GB RAM/128 GB)

With Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro, you can play Smooth Graphics up to Extreme frame rate settings.

I only recommend Smooth Graphics with Ultra frame rate settings to maintain the temperature. Because if you go higher, the phone will heat up more and the frame rate drop is not good. This might be because of the Mediatek processor. Generally, Snapdragon delivers less heat and preferred by most gamers.

Balance, HD, and HDR Graphics settings are also available in combination with Ultra frame rate settings. There is no Extreme frame rate setting for these three Graphics settings.

#5 – BLU G90 Pro

Display: 6.5 inches; 1080 x 2340 pixels (396 PPI); IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors
OS: Android 10
Hardware:  Mediatek MT6785 Helio G90T (12 nm), GPU: Mali-G76 MC4, 128 GB Internal Memory, 4 GB RAM
Battery: Non-removable Li-Po 5,100 mAh battery
Network: 4G LTE (1/2/3/4/5/7/8/12/13/17/28); 3G: (850/900/1700/1900/2100)

Price: USD 149.99 (used to be 249.99)

If you have not heard about BLU yet, it’s an American manufacturer of smartphones since 2009 and they are known for their phones’ affordable price AND good quality. Currently, their BLU G9 Pro is rated 4.3/5.0 on Amazon.

With their BLU G9 Pro, you can play with HD Graphics + High frame rate for PUBG mobile. High frame rate is the highest frame rate for HD Graphics while HDR and Ultra HD settings are unavailable in Settings. BUT you can set it at Ultra frame rate + Smooth Graphics.

Smooth Graphics at Ultra frame rate is my recommendation. Like any other phone, you will need a good internet connection for stable and smooth gameplay.

Check with your preferred network carrier if the network bands are compatible. It has US compatibility Nationwide on all GSM Networks including AT&T, T-Mobile, Cricket, Metro PCS, and others. It is not compatible with CDMA Networks like Verizon, Sprint, and Boost Mobile.

Smartphones to AVOID

There are smartphones that have great hardware specs and the latest software updates, but when you try it with PUBG Mobile and other games that require quick screen touches, you will notice some touch latency issues. This touch delay which is mostly due to poor OS versions or updates can affect your gameplay significantly up to a point that you will find the game unplayable on that device.

Always find time to look at online forums and Reddit for any touch latency issues encountered by other users for specific smartphones that you want to get. Examples of these smartphones with great specs but with several threads on the internet about touch latency issues are Huawei Honor Play and Xiaomi Pocophone F1.

You also need to avoid smartphones with physical <Home>, <Back>, and <Recent Apps> buttons at the bottom. It’s hard not to accidentally press those buttons while playing and if that happens, it will ruin your gameplay. It’s also troublesome to install apps that can disable and re-enable those buttons during gameplay.

My Recommendation

I recommend the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10S if you want an Android phone for PUBG mobile. It has a great CPU, maintains its temperature even at Extreme (60 fps) frame rate, and it’s the latest released phone on the list.

If you like an iPhone, I recommend the iPhone 8 Plus renewed version because it’s cheaper, has a bigger screen than the iPhone SE 2020, and can run PUBG Mobile smoothly and without a problem even at Extreme frame rate settings.

If you prefer a Samsung phone, you can get a renewed version of Samsung Galaxy S10+. It has a big screen and can also run PUBG Mobile smoothly at Extreme frame rate settings. Remember to check if you are getting the version with Snapdragon. Do not get the Exynos version.

You don’t need to spend too much on high-end smartphones in order to have a great PUBG Mobile gameplay experience. All you need is a smartphone that is affordable with the right specs and compatible game settings.

All phones on the list have their own network band specifications. Remember to check with your preferred network carrier for band compatibility.

  1. Hello Chris, I must say that this article is very helpful and informative. I was looking for some cheap phones for PUBG Mobile when I stumbled upon your article. Here I can find the phones that fit my budget. Xiaomi Mi A3 is my favorite one, it has such great design, how are the graphics and display and how long will it take to charge the battery?

    1. Hey Danijel, thank you for the comment. Xiaomi Mi A3 is an excellent smartphone for PUBG Mobile and it’s very affordable as well. Also, the HD display of this phone has Super AMOLED technology which provides more vivid and realistic colors compared to IPS LCD that you can find in most iPhones.
Note that the default charger has 10W of output but the phone also supports an 18W fast charger. In just 1 hour of fast charging its huge battery, it will fill already at about 90%. On the other hand, if you use the 10W charger, it will take around 2 hours to charge at 100%.

  2. I have always been one to have a cheap phone that is higher qquality. The crrent phone that I’m using now is like that. And I’m very happy with it.after several years, it starts to get slower so you do have to upgrade it your phone basically every several years I think. That’s why I prefer to spend less money

    1. Hey Jake, games that are available today (like PUBG mobile) are getting more and more complex. Phones that were released several years back will most likely not be able to run it smoothly. What are the specs of your phone right now?

  3. Hello. Before I forget, I think your background image is super nice. There’s a vibe to it that suits your niche perfectly.

Honestly, I’ve never heard of the first and second brand you mentioned but if they function well in this code-heavy game then they must be really good for the price.  I think you can buy several of these for the price of an iPhone

    Sunny.

    1. Thank you, Sonny. BLU is an American brand smartphone. Their headquarters is in Miami, FL. BLU is an acronym for Bold Like Us and they have released affordable phones with better specs than competitors since 2009. Their smartphones are very popular on Amazon.

UMIDIGI, on the other hand, is a Chinese brand and it has released a lot of smartphone models since 2012. They also have a smartphone called UMIDIGI F1 that was released back in January 2019 and it’s also very affordable. It’s one of the flagship killers.

  4. ur article was interesting and informative. I have got a lot of information about the cheapest phones for PUBG Mobile. I also enjoyed reading your article. I like the Xiaomi Mi A3 phone. I want to buy the Xiaomi Mi A3 phone. Can you help me to buy the Xiaomi Mi A3 phone? I have bookmarked your website so that I can come back to your website later.

    1. Hey Md Millat, you are welcome. Also, to answer your question, you can easily get the Xiaomi Mi A3 on Amazon. It has a 4.5 out of 5 average rating on Amazon and over 4,490 ratings and reviews.

  5. I have my little brother who is a fan of the battle royal game, but his smartphone doesn’t allow him to play well.

In fact, the battery of his phone doesn’t last for long and often so much that he is addicted to this game, he plugs the phone into the outlet while playing. What I find too risky for him.

I’ve thought about finding him another smartphone that can allow him to play properly, and I think your post is the prototype I was looking for.
I need a phone with a battery that can last a long time, and I thought of choosing the UMIDIGI Power with a battery capacity of 5,150 mAh.

Is my choice correct? Waiting for your confirmation before I place my order.
    Thanks!

    1. That is really risky because the phone heats up while charging and the temperature rises even more when you use it while playing PUBG.

Yes, UMIDIGI Power is a very good choice. The battery capacity of this phone is as huge as my power bank right now. It is also capable of fast charging. Despite having a huge battery capacity, it is only 8.8 mm thin. The iPhone 11 is only at 8.3 mm so you can see how thin UMIDIGI Power is.
