Cheapest Phones for Mobile Legends – Top 10

August 7, 202011:55 am By

Today, I made a list of the best and cheapest phones that you can use to play Mobile Legends so you can already jump into it.

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang is a free multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) mobile game that is very fun and exciting to play.

I’ve been playing this game for many years now whenever I have free time. It’s very addictive and the fun and laughter are overwhelming especially if you play with your friends.

But before that, let’s discuss the things you need to consider when choosing your phone.

Mobile Legends

Mobile Legends – Things to Consider Before Getting a Phone

No Touch Latency Issues / Touch Lag – This is probably the most important aspect that you need to consider when getting a cheaper phone for Mobile Legends. For example, the Xiaomi Pocophone F1 is only around USD 286 last year, but you will be disappointed because you can’t even cast multiple skills quickly in Mobile Legends using this phone.

The Pocophone F1 hardware is as fast as the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 and can definitely run games with heavy graphics smoothly. But when it comes to Mobile Legends where you need to be very fast when casting skills at the precise moment, Pocophone F1 is practically frustrating, despite having the latest OS updates.

Below are the phones that you should avoid for having touch latency or joystick issues as reported by several users on Reddit and other online forums. These phones are excellent and cheap, but these are not good for playing Mobile Legends:

  • Huawei Honor Play (Source: Online Forums)
  • Xiaomi Pocophone F1 (Source: Reddit)
  • Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 (Source: Reddit)
  • Samsung J7 Prime (joystick issue can be fixed through a workaround, but it’s bothersome Source: Online Forums)

Larger Screen – The ideal screen size is 5.5″ and higher. I used to play on my Huawei P10 with its 5.1″ screen a year ago and it was fine. But I noticed that it’s easier for my fingers to cast skills and navigate the game when I use my other 5.7″ smartphone. Aside from that, you will appreciate more the cool graphics on a larger screen.

Some are using tablets like the iPad mini. The disadvantage of using a tablet is its weight. You can’t hold it very long without feeling the fatigue on your hands. In Mobile Legends, you always need to keep your hands and fingers relaxed to play effectively.

Longer Battery Life – This is very important especially if you are playing outside while waiting for someone, etc. You can play while on the bus or train or at the airport to kill time. But the fun only lasts until you have consumed all your phone’s battery life.

Also, you have to check if the smartphone is capable of fast charging. Some smartphones take hours to charge and you don’t want that especially if you are playing very often.

There are also smartphones that have Ultrapower Saving Mode functionality if you are very serious about battery life. These smartphones allow you to select three to six applications that you can run while in the power-saving mode.

Other Considerations – Physical Buttons, Gaming Phone Holder, and Use of Voice Chat

Smartphones with physical buttons for <Back>, <Recent Apps>, or <Home> key may extremely bother you during gameplay. You will most likely accidentally press these keys while playing the game because these physical keys are usually near the edge and close to your hands.

Imagine pressing the physical <Back> or <Home> key during an important clash. It will temporarily show a pop-up screen or you will be out of your game and discover that you died when you get back.

I highly discourage you from using Smartphones with physical keys at the bottom. If you still like a smartphone with physical keys for <Back>, <Recent Apps>, or <Home>, you can try to install an app that can modify or disable the effect of any physical buttons.

You can also buy a gaming phone holder as an alternative. I tried to buy one, but I was so used to using just the smartphone that I have never adapted to using a gaming phone holder. It takes time to adjust when using this accessory.

If you like to play with Voice Chat on so you can discuss strategies faster with your friends, you will need a good headset. Try to get a smartphone with a standard (e.g. 3.5 mm) audio jack so you can easily find a replacement headset.

  2. The graphics of this game is fantastic if you have a good phone that can run it in Full HD. Ultra HD graphics may slow down the phone.
